ROI CHARMANT, is a classy and speedy representative of the prolific Seattle Slew sire line whose first foals displayed stakes quality as 2-year-olds in 2013.

ROI CHARMANT was a durable athlete who made all but three of his 27 career starts on the Southern California circuit, where he ran with distinction in the extremely competitive sprint division. A winner from the ages of 2 to 8, he was successful on all three of the state's racing surfaces - dirt, turf and synthetic - and regularly posted blazing fractions while running on the front end. He was never headed in seven of his eight wins, and utilized his unorthodox speed to place in four black-type events at Del Mar and Santa Anita Park.

ROI CHARMANT was assigned triple-digit Beyer Speed Figures four times, including a 104 Beyer for his 3 1/2-length romp in a 6 1/2-furlong dirt allowance at Santa Anita, in which he set internal fractions of :21.31, :43.05 and 1:07.38 and a final time of 1:14.19 in January of his 4-year-old season. In 2007, he carved dazzling fractions of :21.82, :43.56 and 1:05.91 en route to a second-place finish in a 6 1/2-furlong allowance on Santa Anita's downhill turf course, earning a 101 Beyer.

ROI CHARMANT displayed his class by placing in a pair of elite dirt races at Santa Anita: he was second in the six-furlong San Miguel Stakes (G3) at 3 and third in the 6 1/2-furlong Potrero Grande Breeders' Cup Handicap (G2) at 4. He also ran second in two turf sprint stakes at the ages of 4 and 6: the five-furlong Green Flash Handicap at Del Mar and the 6 1/2-furlong Daytona Handicap at Santa Anita. He concluded his career with a perfect season as an 8-year-old, posting four consecutive wins at Del Mar and Hollywood Park. He went out a winner in August 2009 with lifetime earnings of $337,678, and subsequently achieved a 100% in-foal rate from his initial book of mares, which he covered in California during the 2010 breeding season.

ROI CHARMANT defeated many top horses during his distinguished career, including the Grade 1 winners Greg's Gold and Siren Lure, the Grade 2 winners Hasty Kris, Northern Soldier, Perfect Moon, Principle Secret, Saint Afleet, Siphonizer and Soul City Slew and the Grade 3 winners Danthebluegrassman, Elusive Diva, High Standards, Jungle Prince, Shadow of Illinois and Time to Get Even.

ROI CHARMANT is by Evansville Slew, a Grade 2-winning son of Slew City Slew, a Seattle Slew stallion whose top runner is the seven-time Grade 1 winner Lava Man ($5,268,706). As a racehorse, Evansville Slew boasted an excellent Starts Percentile Ranking (SPR) of 99. His first three sires - Evansville Slew, Slew City Slew and Seattle Slew - have yielded nearly 200 stakes winners, collectively.

ROI CHARMANT is one of seven multiple winners out of Cantina, a winning daughter of Seattle Dancer whose offspring have earned more than $820,000 to date. Cantina and her dam, the stakes winner Chick Or Two, each had SPRs of 98. Among the notable runners within his first four dams are the multiple graded stakes winners Now Listen and Sandtrap, as well as the 2010 Dubai Golden Shaheen (UAE-G1) winner, Kinsale King.

ROI CHARMANT is inbred 3x2 to the half-brothers Seattle Slew and Seattle Dancer, through their dam My Charmer. He represents the same line cross as Grade 2 winner Bold Chieftain ($1,683,181), the only two-time winner of the California Cup Classic Handicap.

ROI CHARMANT is represented by his first crop of 3-year-olds in 2014. This group includes the precocious Hollywood Park maiden special weight winner Gangnam Guy, who placed in two six-figure stakes races at Del Mar as a juvenile in 2013. He has average earnings per starter of more than $29,000 from his debut crop to race.

ROI CHARMANT stands at Magali Farms in Santa Ynez, California as the property of B & B Zietz Stables. His 2014 fee is $1,000, live foal guarantee.
