Dark Bay or Brown • 1995

A Winning, Stakes-Siring Son Of Storm Cat
Who Reigned As The Leading Sire
In North Dakota In 2007, 2008 & 2009

Minnesota's Leading Sire
On All-Weather Racing Surfaces In 2010

Sire Of Multiple Stakes Winner Edgerrin ($460,903)
& 2011 Track Record-Setting 2YO Stakes Winner Tuffernhell

CATEGORY FIVE brought an outstanding pedigree and proven sire power to Minnesota in 2010, after dominating in North Dakota as that state's leading overall sire in 2007, 2008 and 2009.

CATEGORY FIVE is a son of the premier stallion Storm Cat, the sire of 180 stakes winners, including more than 100 graded/group stakes winners, and the collective earners of more than $126 million. Storm Cat's legacy includes eight champions and his successful sire sons Giant's Causeway, Tale of the Cat, Stormy Atlantic, Forest Wildcat, Bernstein, Hennessy, Forestry and many others.

CATEGORY FIVE is out of the winning, stakes-placed Nodouble mare Slinkee, whose half-sister is 1989 Canadian Broodmare of the Year Passing Mood, the stakes-winning dam of two influential stallions: 1989 Canadian Horse of the Year With Approval and 1997 Belmont Stakes (G1) winner Touch Gold.

CATEGORY FIVE was a precocious runner. As a 2-year-old, he won his career debut in a maiden special weight race at Monmouth Park by more than four lengths. At 3, he won an allowance race at Delaware Park. He also placed in allowance company at Gulfstream Park at 4.

CATEGORY FIVE offers stakes-quality value to Minnesota mare owners. From nine crops of racing age, he has sired five stakes horses, led by the multiple stakes winner Edgerrin ($460,903), a durable winner from the ages of 2 to 9. He is also the sire of the 2011 stakes-winning and track record-setting juvenile Tuffernhell.

CATEGORY FIVE is represented by total progeny earnings of more than $1.8 million, and lifetime average earnings per starter of more than $28,000.

CATEGORY FIVE stands at Triple S Farm in Winona, Minnesota as the property of Mesa Farms. His 2012 fee is $1,500, live foal guarantee.
