Distant View - Toussaud, by El Gran Senor
Bay • 1997

California’s #1 First-Crop Sire Of 2007
& #1 Second-Crop Sire Of 2008,
With More Than 60 Winners &
Lifetime Progeny Earnings More Than $3.4 Million

A Brilliant Miler Who Won Or Placed
In 7 Graded Stakes,
Including Del Mar's G1 Eddie Read Handicap

Half-Brother To Classic Winner/G1 Sire Empire Maker
And Three Additional G1 Winners Out Of
Broodmare Of The Year Toussaud

DECARCHY was bred to run, and bred to succeed as a stallion. His sire, the Mr. Prospector stallion Distant View, was a champion 3-year-old in England who went on to sire the English champion Observatory and the $2.4 million-earner Sightseek, a seven-time Grade 1 winner in the United States. His female family is also of the highest quality; he is a half-brother to four Grade 1 winners out of 2002 Broodmare of the Year Toussaud, including North America's 2009 leading third-crop sire, Empire Maker.

DECARCHY broke his maiden by 7 lengths at 2 in England but didn't flourish until he came to the United States at 4. He won his first three starts in the U. S. and ran second in the fourth, beaten a half-length in the Grade 2 Citation Handicap at Hollywood Park.

DECARCHY ran even better as an older horse. At 4 and 5, he won graded stakes at Santa Anita and Golden Gate Fields and placed in four other graded stakes, including the Grade 1 Eddie Read Handicap at Del Mar.

DECARCHY was at his best at distances ranging from a flat mile to a mile and an eighth, a profile shared by many successful sires, including Storm Cat.

DECARCHY's first foals are 5-year-olds of 2010. He was California's leading first-crop sire of 2007, and he repeated his reign as the state's leading second-crop sire of 2008. Continuing his dominance, he also ranked as the leading third-crop sire among all stallions who stood in California during the 2009 breeding season.

DECARCHY boasts more than 60 winners and overall progeny earnings of more than $3.4 million, as well as lifetime average earnings per starter of more than $34,000. Among his five stakes winners are $250,000 Snow Chief Stakes winner Harlene, $200,000 Sunshine Millions Filly and Mare Sprint Stakes winner Quisisana, 2009 2-year-old stakes winner Sourdough Sam and 2010 dual stakes winner Antares World, the latter of whom ran second in Hollywood Park’s 2010 American Oaks Stakes (G1).

DECARCHY stands at Magali Farms in Santa Ynez, California. His 2010 fee is $2,500, live foal guarantee.
