File Away, an allowance-winning son of Relaunch, boasts a pedigree that embraces some of the greatest sires in modern Thoroughbred history on the top side and a family of champions on the bottom.

File Awaycarries the blood of sires who are far back in most pedigrees but who have profoundly influenced the genetic makeup of the most succssful present-day racehorses. His four-generation pedigree shows *Nasrullah, *Ribot, *Mahmoud, Bold Ruler, and Intentionally but is free of Northern Dancer, permitting the possibility of potent outcrosses to mares of that line. 

File Away is by Relaunch, sire of 85 stakes winners, including major runners worldwide and such notable American performers as With Anticipation ($2,660,543), Skywalker ($2,226,750),  and Waquoit ($2,225,360). 

File Away is out of a half-sister to champion filly Christmas Past and to the granddam of Chilean champion Capo Grosso (Chi). His second dam is a half-sister to the great foundation mare Sweet Tooth, who produced not only champion filly Our Mims but the outstanding racehorse and sire, Alydar. In all, 59 stakes horses appear in the first three dams of this female family.

File Away was durable, starting 33 times over four seasons, earning $143,630. He won four times at a flat mile and once at a mile and a sixteenth, distances that are an important indicator of sire success.

File Away has been at stud since 2003 but has bred only a handful of mares--a total of 10 in those three seasons. He has had only two foals to race.

File Away stands at Zimmerman Farms, L. C., Lindon, Utah, at a fee of $1,000, live foal.
