FRUITION, chestnut, 1993, by Woodman--Winters' Love, by Danzig. . . ![]()
Fruition burst onto the racing scene like a rocket, soaring to a 105 Beyer Speed Rating in winning his first start, the highest in the nation for a 2-year-old in a decade. Click here for a chart of that Hollywood Park race. Fruition's career was compromised soon after when he was kicked in the shoulder by another horse and was further limited when his breathing became permanently hampered by a throat infection. When he finally returned to the races more than a year after that first start, he was acclaimed by the Daily Racing Form. Click here for that story. Fruition's press notices were enthusiastic. Click here for a sample. Fruition boasts near-faultless conformation, as indicated by his $230,000 sale price as a weanling, second-highest of the 65 Woodman weanlings to sell through 1993. Fruition's sire was a champion and is the sire of champions. Click here for details. Fruition is
a half-brother to four stakes horses, including multiple Grade 1 stakes
winner Tranquility Lake ($1,662,390) and multiple Grade 2 stakes winner
Benchmark ($636,707). He's out of a graded stakes-placed Danzig mare. For
