GOOD JOURNEY is beyond doubt among the best-credentialed stallions ever to enter the stud in California. A half-brother to champion sprinter Aldebaran, he's by leading sire Nureyev out of a Grade 1-winning European champion. He won the Grade 1 $1,000,000 Atto Mile Stakes and three other graded stakes races and placed in another three, retiring at the age of 7 with earnings of $1,733,058.

GOOD JOURNEY placed twice in three starts at 3 in France, then shipped to the U. S., where he was never worse than third in 13 starts. He won five of his final six starts, all in graded stakes. He recorded Equibase Speed Figures from 110 to 121 in all of his final 11 starts.

GOOD JOURNEY initiated his stallion career in Australia, and continues to shuttle between that country and California. He enjoys immense popularity in Australia, with a yearling average of $74,600 at the major sales in 2008, an in-foal mare average of $600,000 at the Inglis Easter Broodmare Sale and a tremendous book of 119 mares covered during the 2008 Southern Hemisphere breeding season. His first four Australia-conceived crops have already yielded more than $1.5 million in cumulative progeny earnings, as well as 30 winners, including the Group 1-winning filly Grand Journey (Aus) and the Group 2-winning colt Sound Journey (Aus) from his debut crop, and the stakes-placed filly Night at the Opera (Aus) from his second crop.

GOOD JOURNEY could run anywhere. He won or placed in graded stakes at Hollywood Park, Santa Anita, Woodbine, Churchill Downs, Arlington Park, and Hawthorne Park.

GOOD JOURNEY is by champion racehorse and leading sire Nureyev, sire of 135 stakes winners, nine of them champions, including Theatrical (Ire), Miesque, Peintre Celebre, Sonic Lady, Soviet Star, and Spinning World.

GOOD JOURNEY is out of European champion Chimes of Freedom, dam of Eclipse Award-winning sprinter Aldebaran ($1,739,186), Good Journey, and two other stakes winners. His second dam is Irish champion Aviance (Ire). It's a female family packed with outstanding runners.

GOOD JOURNEY stands at Magali Farms in Santa Ynez, California. His first California-conceived foals are 2-year-olds of 2010. His 2010 fee is $3,500, live foal guarantee.
