Stakes-Winning, Grade 1-Placed
Runner Brings a Renewal of the
Siberian Express Sire Line

Indian Country, a close male-line descendent of Siberian Express, brings to California a renewed infusion of the blood of that outstanding progenitor, whose sons In Excess (Ire) and Siberian Summer are among the state's most successful sires.

Indian Country is by Santa Anita Derby winner Indian Charlie ($616,120), a son of In Excess (Ire) who's already the sire of 26 stakes winners, including a champion, and earners of almost $20,000,000.

Indian Country won or placed in 10 of his 11 starts, earning $219,837 while winning one stakes race and placing in three others, including the Grade 1 Ancient Title Breeders' Cup Stakes at Santa Anita.

Indian Country missed becoming a Grade 1 stakes winner by less than three-quarters of a length. Charging hard from last place in the field of seven in the Ancient Title, he closed strongly and finished third, only a half-length and a neck behind the winner.

Indian Country is out of the stakes-winning Conquistador Cielo mare Slumgullion and is a full brother to stakes winner No Bull Baby. His female family combines the Mr. Prospector/Raise a Native and Storm Bird/Northern Dancer sire lines.

Indian Country stands his third season at stud in 2008 at E. A. Ranches, Santa Ysabel, at a fee of only $2,500, live foal.
