Old English Rancho
Location: About 14 miles east of Fresno, about four miles
north of Sanger.
Size: About 370 acres.
Water: A two-acre lake, numerous wells, and access to the
Friant-Kern Canal.
Trees: Hundreds of large California Oak and sycamores. More
than 1,000 poplar and cottonless cottonwood trees were planted in 1985.
Soil: Mainly sandy loam with an average Storie Index rating
of 62.5. The majority of the land is rated from 76 to 90. Anything over
60 is generally considered prime soil on the Storie Index.
