Harbor the Gold entered stud in 2005.

His first foals were 2-year-olds of 2008, and they collectively earned $110,181 to establish him as Oregon’s leading freshman sire that year. From his first eight starters, he sired four juvenile winners, including three stakes winners. Two were honored as state champions: Washington Champion 2-Year-Old Colt/Gelding Noosa Beach ($343,125) and Oregon Champion 2-Year-Old Filly Catalina Harbor.

In 2009, he repeated his success as Oregon’s leading second-crop sire, with year-end progeny earnings of $366,669. Noosa Beach won a pair of stakes races at Emerald Downs, placed in a Grade 3 stakes race in Canada and was subsequently named Washington Champion 3-Year-Old Colt/Gelding. Six starters from his second crop reached the winner’s circle as 2-year-olds. Among those juveniles were the multiple stakes winners Koala Beach ($121,693) and Hollywood Harbor ($70,501), the latter of whom was named Washington Champion 2-Year-Old Colt/Gelding. He also was Oregon’s leading sire of 2-year-olds in 2009.

In 2010, he has achieved four stakes winners at Emerald Downs and ascended to the title of Oregon’s leading overall sire by annual progeny earnings. Noosa Beach has won four additional stakes races, including a track record-equaling victory in the six-furlong Seattle Handicap and a dominant win in the track’s premier annual race: the $203,125 Longacres Mile Handicap (G3). Koala Beach added another stakes win to his portfolio, and his 2-year-olds Couldabenthewhisky and Carrabelle Harbor are each dual stakes winners.
