"One of the classiest and most hard-bitten competitors to ever grace the shedrow of the Richard Mandella stable." — The Blood-Horse, December 6, 2003

Redattore (Brz) was a durable performer at the highest levels of international competition. He won 11 stakes races from the ages of 3 to 8, including nine graded/group races in the U.S. and his native Brazil. A versatile runner, he won from seven furlongs to 1 1/8 miles on both dirt and turf, and posted 100-plus Beyer Speed Figures in 16 of his 21 U.S. starts. As an 8-year-old, he won four graded stakes, including Hollywood Park’s Shoemaker Breeders’ Cup Mile Handicap (G1). He concluded his remarkable career with total earnings of $1,799,883.

Redattore is a son of the American-bred stallion Roi Normand, by Exclusive Native — one of the leading sires in Brazil and sire of 2000 Eclipse Champion Older Female Riboletta (Brz).

Redattore is from a powerful female family that has produced the important sires Private Account, Woodman, Mutakddim and Not For Love, as well as the champion runners Numbered Account, Rhythm and Grey Way. Forty stakes winners have descended from his third dam, the great foundation mare Intriguing.

Redattore entered stud in Brazil prior to the 2004 Southern Hemisphere breeding season. His resulting Brazilian-bred runners are now excelling! His debut crop sired in that country features the Group 1 winners Estrela Do Oriente (Brz), Kapo Di Tutti (Brz) and Tango Uno (Brz), Group 2 winner Notavel Surena (Brz) and Group 3 winners Al Arab (Brz) and Davignon (Brz). Redattore was honored as Brazil’s leading freshman sire of 2007-2008.

Redattore is also achieving success with his North American runners, the oldest of whom are 3-year-olds of 2009. On April 25, his son Compari captured one of the richest annual races for California-breds: the $250,000 Snow Chief Stakes at Hollywood Park.

Redattore stands at Harris Farms in Coalinga, California. His 2009 fee is $2,500, payable at time of foaling.
