REDATTORE (BRZ) was a durable performer at the highest levels of international competition. He won 11 stakes races from the ages of 3 to 8, including nine graded/group races in the U.S. and his native Brazil. A versatile runner, he won from seven furlongs to 1 1/8 miles on both dirt and turf, and posted 100-plus Beyer Speed Figures in 16 of his 21 U.S. starts. As an 8-year-old, he won four graded stakes, including Hollywood Park's Shoemaker Breeders' Cup Mile Handicap (G1). He concluded his remarkable career with total earnings of $1,799,883.
REDATTORE is a son of the American-bred stallion Roi Normand, by Exclusive Native - one of the leading sires in Brazil and sire of 2000 Eclipse Champion Older Female Riboletta (Brz).
REDATTORE is from a powerful female family that has produced the important sires Private Account, Woodman, Mutakddim and Not For Love, as well as the champion runners Numbered Account, Rhythm and Grey Way. Forty stakes winners have descended from his third dam, the great foundation mare Intriguing.
REDATTORE entered stud in Brazil prior to the 2004 Southern Hemisphere breeding season. His resulting Brazilian-bred runners are now excelling! His stakes horses sired in that country include the Group 1 winners Kapo Di Tutti (Brz), Estrela Do Oriente (Brz), Tango Uno (Brz) and Real Secret (Brz), Group 2 winner Notavel Surena (Brz) and Group 3 winners Davignon (Brz), Al Arab (Brz) and Ladyttore (Brz). Redattore was honored as Brazil's leading freshman sire of 2007/2008, and as the nation's leading sire for the 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 racing seasons.
REDATTORE is also achieving success with his North American runners, the oldest of whom are 4-year-olds of 2010. In 2009, his versatile son Compari captured the $250,000 Snow Chief Stakes on Cushion Track at Hollywood Park; in 2010, he won the $100,000 Sensational Star Handicap on the turf at Santa Anita Park.
REDATTORE is represented by overall progeny earnings of more than $1.8 million, and more than 80 winners to date. He is California's leading third-crop sire in 2010.
REDATTORE stands at Harris Farms in Coalinga, California as the property of Harris Farms and Dr. Luis Taunay. His 2010 fee is $2,500, live foal guarantee.
