SOFT GOLD has sired the collective earners of more than $3.6 million, and has 13 stakes horses to his credit. Those runners include a graded stakes winner and a graded stakes-placed winner, both at Santa Anita Park. He is represented by lifetime average earnings per starter of more than $43,000.
SOFT GOLD retired to stud in California, where his Average Earnings Index (AEI) placed him among the state's top 25 active sires. But without advertising support, he was neglected by that state's breeders, and covered only a few mares in 2007. He relocated from California to Oregon prior to the 2008 breeding season. His first Oregon-conceived foals are yearlings of 2010.

SOFT GOLD was himself a runner of quality. In his native Brazil, he won Group 1 races at the ages of 3 and 4, and won or placed in five additional group races at 2, 3 and 4.
SOFT GOLD is by Fast Gold, a multiple graded stakes-winning son of Mr. Prospector who sired 20 stakes winners while standing in Kentucky. In South America, Fast Gold was regarded as a major sire, with 29 stakes winners, including five champions.
