Eastern Echo - Drapeau, by Raja Baba
Chestnut • 1994

A Precocious Winner Of The G1 Hollywood Futurity
Who Won Or Placed In 12 Graded Stakes
From The Ages Of 2 To 5

One Of California’s Perennial Leading Sires,
His Runners Have Earned More Than $20.2 Million,
Topped By Eclipse Champion Sprinter Thor’s Echo

Leading Sire Of California-Conceived 2YOs
In 2006, 2008, 2009 & 2010

SWISS YODELER is a Grade 1 winner who has earned a sterling reputation as one of California’s preeminent sires. As a son of the Grade 1-winning Damascus stallion Eastern Echo out of a stakes-winning daughter of Raja Baba, he offers a unique, proven breeding opportunity for mare owners.

SWISS YODELER was a precocious runner who exhibited his talent on a national stage. Undefeated in his first five starts at 2, he climaxed his brilliant juvenile season with a wire-to-wire victory in Hollywood Park’s Grade 1 Hollywood Futurity. Among all North American colts, his $617,200 in earnings for the year were second only to those of 1996 Eclipse Champion 2-Year-Old Male Boston Harbor. He was weighted at 120 pounds on the Experimental Free Handicap, sixth among all North American juvenile colts and ahead of 1997 Triple Crown contenders Silver Charm (118), Free House (115) and Captain Bodgit (114).

SWISS YODELER continued to perform at the highest levels of competition after his stellar juvenile campaign. Overall, he won or placed in 12 graded stakes races at distances ranging from 4 1/2 furlongs to 1 1/16 miles. He retired sound at the age of 5 after a 24-start career.

SWISS YODELER has stood exclusively in California since 1999, and has remained a prominent force within the state’s stallion ranks. He was an immediate leader out of the gate, ranking as the state’s leading first-crop sire by progeny earnings in 2002. He remained the top sire of his generation, earning subsequent titles as the state’s leading second-crop sire in 2003 and leading third-crop sire in 2004.

SWISS YODELER achieved annual progeny earnings of more than $2 million each year from 2003 through 2008. He led all California-based sires by progeny earnings in 2006, with $4,880,827 banked by his runners that year. The success of his California-conceived 2-year-old runners has been a major strength; he has led all stallions in annual progeny earnings for this category in 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010. Overall, his juveniles have earned more than $5.1 million to date.

SWISS YODELER boasts more than 300 individual winners, 62 stakes horses (36 black-type) and the collective earners of more than $20.2 million. He is represented by lifetime average earnings per starter of more than $46,000. His chief earner is the Eclipse Champion Sprinter Thor’s Echo ($2,461,490), winner of the Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) in 2006.

SWISS YODELER stands at Harris Farms in Coalinga, California as the property of Heinz Steinmann. His 2010 fee is $6,000, live foal guarantee.
